Log onto RDS-IT-01 or DC-01 with admin
Open CMD/Powershell and load Diskpart
The go to \\dc-01\profilecontainers and copy the path for the Users VHD & expand it with Diskpart. Standard profile size is 5GB so usually just expand to 10:
C:\Windows\system32> diskpart
Microsoft DiskPart version 10.0.17763.1911
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation.
On computer: DC-01-18198
DISKPART> select vdisk file="E:\ProfileContainers\Paul.Smith_S-1-5-21-1402545239-2878383127-3945340426-1402\Paul.Smith_S-1-5-21-1402545239-2878383127-3945340426-1402.vhdx
DiskPart successfully selected the virtual disk file.
DISKPART> expand vdisk maximum=10240
100 percent completed
DiskPart successfully expanded the virtual disk file.
DISKPART> exit
Leaving DiskPart...
****
I then right clicked on the vhdx, mounted it, expanded the partition in Disk Manager, right clicked on it in Disk Manager and dismounted.
Duncan said the approach below does not work
Ihave installed the Hyper-V powershell module on dc-01 so that with a user signed out we are able to run:
Resize-VHD -Path E:\ProfileContainers\Paul.Smith_S-1-5-21-1402545239-2878383127-3945340426-1402\Paul.Smith_S-1-5-21-1402545239-2878383127-3945340426-1402.vhdx -SizeBytes 20GB
I suspect that having r un this we will need to mount the vhdx, then expand the partition using the Disk Manager tool (right click on the start menu) and then unmount it before the user can sign back in.
I think that Paul is away his desk. When he get’s back (or if he contacts you guys) then I’ll get him to sign out and test the process.
