This error occurs when the OMS connection between Outlook and Word (or other Office apps) is out of sync.
to fix it, close Outlook and Word apps down (and Excel if open and connected to OMS)
The reopen just Word and connect to Mattersphere before reopening Outlook which will then auto connect to Mattersphere and should process the email functions properly again
